Stay Active with Our Neighborhood Programs

September 16, 2025

Staying active is easier and more enjoyable when you’re a part of a community. That is the core message behind our Neighborhood Programs. Where we bring fitness, education, and social connection to older adults. For our residents and those that live nearby.

What the Neighborhood Programs Offer

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities’ Neighborhood Programs blend exercise, fun, and friendship to support healthy aging. Offered at eleven campuses and open to all seniors in the surrounding neighborhoods, these programs are designed to improve strength, balance, and endurance while fostering meaningful social connections

Participants enjoy a variety of activities, including tailored balance plans, strength training, nutrition education, and informative wellness presentations. Beyond the physical benefits, members gain a supportive community that makes staying active enjoyable and sustainable. Proving that healthy living is about more than just fitness, it’s about feeling connected and engaged every day.

Benefits for Non-Residents

You don’t have to live in an Episcopal SeniorLife community to enjoy the benefits of its Neighborhood Programs. Open to all older adults in the surrounding areas, these programs provide access to expert-led fitness classes, wellness education, and social activities without the need for a residential commitment.

Non-residents can take advantage of the same high-quality resources, facilities, and supportive environment as residents, making it an affordable and flexible way to stay active. The programs also offer a natural setting to meet new people, form lasting friendships, and become part of a welcoming community that values health and connection. Join us today by filling out our membership application form.

How Participation Supports Healthy Aging

Staying active and socially engaged is a cornerstone of healthy aging, and ESLC’s Neighborhood Programs make it easy to do both. Regular participation in fitness and balance classes helps maintain mobility, prevent falls, and support independence. At the same time, the group setting fosters friendships and reduces the risk of loneliness, which has been linked to a variety of health concerns.

Educational sessions and wellness presentations keep the mind sharp, while a variety of activities ensure that participants can choose what best fits their interests and abilities. Together, these elements create a well-rounded approach to aging that benefits the body, mind, and spirit.
