Tuesday night’s Bright Spot from Channel 13 shines on parades, cakes, friends, and family. Check out the entire story here.
Episcopal SeniorLife Communities hosted a parade outside Brentland Woods, and a party on the inside, in honor of one of its residents. Anne Licata is celebrating her 100th birthday this week. She worked at Bausch & Lomb most of her life before joining the payroll department at Allstate Insurance, until her retirement. She’s an avid reader and always on the look out for new books.
Licata said she truly appreciates the work that went into Tuesday’s party and those who gathered. “Family and friends, they mean a lot, and really what counts is your family and friends that you have every day,” said Licata. Anne has one son, named Len, who described his mom as an “old school, 1950s mom.”
“Great meals, a little over-protective at times, but I wouldn’t take a minute of it back,” said Len. “She’s a wonderful woman and I love her with all my heart.”
A wonderful woman, and bright spot, whose advice for a long life is “take one day at a time!”
