Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information & Updates

Last updated: April 2, 2020 @ 8:00 a.m.

Information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to rapidly evolve. ESLC has assembled a core response team to monitor the emergence of COVID-19, and is working closely with the State Department of Health (DOH) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). All precautions and initiatives are aimed at limiting the potential risk for our residents.

This page will be updated as new details arise.

Family/Visitor/Member updates
In an effort to maintain the health of all residents, ESLC’s core response team has made the decision to restrict all visitors to all ESLC buildings. This includes Neighborhood Program members.

Restricted visitation means ESLC prohibits all visitation except for end-of-life situations, family members needing training for discharge from short-term rehab, or necessary healthcare support such as companion or healthcare aides. In these cases, only two visitors are allowed per resident per visit.

Permitted visitors are to follow this protocol upon arrival: answer screening questions, have temperature taken to rule out fever, wear a face mask while in the building, and proceed to the resident apartment/room only (no common area).

Proper use of face mask tutorial.

Many families are expressing how appreciative they are to the staff during this time. If you’d like to send a video message that can be shared with our team members, please email to COVID19@EpiscopalSeniorLife.org. We will relay all messages.

Neighborhood Programs

We are committed to helping you, our Neighborhood Program members, stay connected despite the fact that we have been required to temporarily suspend our in-person activities for those who do not reside in one of our communities. Our belief that you are entitled to live active and engaged lives has NOT been put on hold!

With this in mind, ESLC has enabled the use of “Zoom” technology. For the schedule of our current Zoom course offerings, click here. This schedule will continually be updated as new classes are added. Check back often for updates.

Staff Updates:

All staff are required to answer the screening questions daily upon arrival for your shift and will have a temperature taken. Please check in with your supervisor at the start of every shift and sign the daily log. In addition, you are required to wear a face mask on any resident floor and/or while within 6 feet of a resident until further notice.
