My Sister’s Gallery Presents: A Watercolor Artist’s Retrospective by Glenn Miller

Glenn Miller, currently a resident of Pinehurst, has combined a life-long love of painting with photography to preserve structures and memories that are all to quickly vanishing from the American Landscape. His artist’s sketchbooks have provided working details for watercolor paintings – where the application of ‘artistic license’ can readily combine old and forgotten details with current elements of a scene or structure.

The Miller family has resided in Avon, New York – Saline, Michigan – and Pittsford, New York. In 1987 he returned to RIT as an Associate Professor in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. Miller’s fifteen years of field-work encompassed the Application and Science of Color Photographic Technology as it related to the Detroit/South-Eastern Michigan areas of Advertising, Portrait and Commercial color photography.

Retirement at age 70 has allowed Prof. Miller to more actively pursue his Watercolor Painting Studies and Field Painting Activities.

The Water Color paintings in this current exhibition are favorite works from Miller’s personal collection – representing images painted primarily in Michigan and New York states. His work is in private collections in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Maine. He has actively participated in juried exhibitions in Michigan and New York states.

At the Artist’s Request: This is a “Not For Sale” Exhibition.  If you have any questions please contact Diane Cotton, Gallery Coordinator at 585.546.8439 x 3102 or cotton@EpiscopalSeniorlife.org.
