Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is pleased to host “From North to South” at the 1570 Gallery at Valley Manor – a display of watercolors by David J. Braun. The exhibit is on display through June 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Check out the show virtually!
Born in Rochester, Dave now lives with his wife, Pamela, on Lake Ontario in Irondequoit, New York. He has been painting since 1975 and is completely self-taught. His love of painting began as a hobby while working as a mechanical designer at Gleason Works in Rochester.
His inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the four seasons in New York State, and in recent years, his travels down south and out west. Interesting porches, windows of older homes, gardens, flowers and sailboats have found their way into his paintings. His watercolors are usually a combination of two techniques: the loose, wet-in wet initial painting followed by a tighter, more controlled dry brush method.
Dave has taught classes and done workshops locally and has had many one-man shows. He is a member of Suburban Rochester Art Group and has displayed his paintings at several galleries in New York State.
