Niesdri learned how to draw from her friend’s uncle in kindergarten. When she was in College, she discovered that this friend’s (now late) Uncle G.M. Sudharta- was a very well-known caricature artist in Indonesia. After she retired from teaching the Indonesian language at Cornell University in 2015, she learned basic watercolors from Betsy Liano (she is well known for Painting Concepts in Brighton, NY).
