Episcopal SeniorLife Communities Now Sponsoring Oasis Rochester, Expanding Opportunities for Older Adults

We have exciting news to share with our community.

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities (ESLC) is proud to announce that we are now the sponsoring organization of Oasis Rochester, the local chapter of The Oasis Institute — a national nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults through lifelong learning, health and wellness, technology education and volunteer opportunities.

A Partnership Rooted in Shared Purpose

For more than 40 years, Oasis programs have made a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across the country, and right here in Rochester. Oasis Rochester offers a wide range of programs designed specifically for adults 50 and older, including:

• Arts, humanities, and cultural classes
• Health and fitness activities
• One-on-one technology assistance
• Volunteer opportunities to give back to the Rochester community

These programs are built on a simple but powerful belief — that older adults deserve enriching, meaningful experiences that support their independence and quality of life. That belief is one we share wholeheartedly at ESLC.

What This Means for Oasis Rochester

As the new sponsoring organization, ESLC is committed to ensuring that Oasis Rochester’s programs not only continue, but grow — supported by our deep roots in the Rochester community and our longstanding commitment to older adult well-being.

“This is a natural and exciting partnership,” said Lisa Marcello, President and CEO of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. “Oasis Rochester has built something remarkable over the past four decades — a community where older adults come to grow, connect and thrive. We are honored to carry that mission forward and to invest in the programs that make such a difference in people’s lives.”

Ann Cunningham, Executive Director of Oasis Rochester, echoed that enthusiasm: “Joining Episcopal SeniorLife Communities gives Oasis Rochester a greater opportunity to serve even more older adults in our community. They share our belief that aging should be filled with purpose, joy, connection and continued growth, and I couldn’t be more excited about what we’ll be able to accomplish together.”

Paul Weiss, PhD, President of The Oasis Institute, expressed confidence in the partnership: “Our Rochester location has been a shining example of what our programs can do for a community. Partnering with an organization of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities’ caliber ensures that the spirit and mission of Oasis will not only continue in Rochester, but flourish for years to come.”

A New Home for Oasis Rochester

Along with this exciting news comes a new chapter — literally. Beginning in January, Oasis Rochester will relocate from 259 Monroe Avenue to 1530 East Avenue, where updated fitness and educational spaces will serve as the welcoming new home for all that Oasis Rochester has to offer.
