Lighthouse
Born in Rochester, N.Y., Dave lives with his wife, Pamela, on Lake Ontario in Irondequoit, N.Y. He has been painting since 1975. His love of painting began as a hobby, while working as a mechanical designer at Gleason Works of Rochester.
His inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the four seasons, especially in New York State, the interesting porches and windows of older homes in the area. Gardens, flowers, barns, and sailboats have found their way into his paintings, as well as scenes from Florida, New Hampshire, Arizona, Vermont, Maine and other faraway places.
His watercolors are usually a combination of two techniques: the loose, wet-in-wet initial painting, followed by a tighter, more controlled dry brush method.
Dave has taught Adult Ed classes and done workshops in Fairport, Greece, Irondequoit, and Bradenton, Florida. Well known in the Rochester area, Dave has had many one man shows and has enjoyed being a member of the Suburban Rochester Art Club.
He has accepted many commissioned assignments and is willing to share his talent with others.
